Saturday, July 18, 2026 - Sailing in the 1000 Islands
The 1000 Islands (pronounced “Thousand Islands,” not “One Thousand Islands”) is a sightseer’s paradise and a popular destination for those looking for an authentic outdoor vacation. Located along the peaceful border between northern New York State (USA) and southeastern Ontario (Canada), the 1000 Islands is a region of endless shorelines, rich history and unique culture.
Our tour begins with leisure time in Alexandria Bay, NY before boarding a Luncheon Cruise with Uncle Sam's Boat Tours. Turn a mid-day meal into a memorable occasion with a Thousand Islands luncheon cruise, combining Uncle Sam’s Boat Tours 2 Nation Tour with a delectable luncheon onboard one of their triple-deck vessels. Enjoy a leisurely cruise through the enchanting channels of the Thousand Islands and learn about the region’s rich history from one of Uncle Sam’s knowledgeable guides while enjoying a sumptuous lunch. Afterward, get up close to the spectacular scenery and magnificent island homes.
Afterwards, disembark at Boldt Castle on Heart Island. The Thousand Islands Bridge Authority (TIBA) welcomes you to tour Boldt Castle to explore and experience an attraction like no other. Construction began on Boldt Castle in 1900 at the bidding of millionaire hotel magnate George C. Boldt as a tribute to his beloved wife Louise. Boldt Castle was designed as their summer dream home. A castle rivaling those of Europe, built on the St. Lawrence River, in the heart of the 1000 Islands. However, it was not to be, Mrs. Boldt passed away suddenly just months before the completion of the castle. Mr. Boldt was inconsolable and immediately stopped all construction on Heart Island, leaving the property vacant for over seventy years…
Today Boldt Castle  is once again becoming what it was always meant to be, the premier home and attraction in the region. Don’t forget to see the Playhouse, Dove Cote, Gazebo, Power House, and all the lovely gardens.
